Boiled Tilapia in Cabbage Sauce…

½ Cabbage ( Thinly-sliced, Ready to use)
Tilapia fish
3 chopped tomatoes
1 cube of maggie, salt
Grated Ginger and garlic clove
Chopped onion
2 teaspoon of veg oil and 1 teaspoon of palm oil
Dried red pepper (For garnishing)


  1. Wash and remove the gut from the fish, put in a small pot, add seasonings,curry/thyme, salt and boil with very little water
  2. Into the pan, add the 2 and 1 teaspoon of veg and palm oil respectively, add your chopped onion, then grated tomatoes and pepper, do stir occasionally
  3. Add the ground ginger and garlic,
  4. Put stock from the boiled fish as required to make it tasty and leave to fry
  5. Add the dried pepper, washed and thinly sliced cabbage in desired quantity, the fish in later part of cooking (to prevent breaking in the sauce), cover for some minutes to simmer
    The sauce is ready when it is mildly cooked. It can be served with plain boiled rice, boiled plantain, yam or taken alone e.t.c
