Teaching a child to be independent is very important. Developing the child’s skills is very essential for child development. Parents should work at developing the child’s fine motor skills and gross motor skills that is the basis for child development. Once child’s fine and gross motor skills are developed the child can do simple and complex activities.
Engaging the child with activities in the home helps to develop the child’s motor skills, which over time builds independence in the child.
Children exert so much energy which needs to be properly channelled to achieve a child’s potential. Every child always want to take part in one activity or the other in the house like; helping with washing, sweeping, making meals, making the bed, they always show interest, their hands are always looking for what to do, they always want to explore soon they adapt and evolve; after learning they get used to the new knowledge and build on it soon they become innovative creating things out of the knowledge they got.
The child cries out “help me to help myself”.
