We are happy to share with you an exciting interview we conducted with one of the top event planners in Nigeria, the creative and multi-talented CEO of Sculptors Event Planners. He also share some insights and inspiring stories on what it takes to deliver qualitative service to his diverse clients, both in Nigeria and abroad.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your company?

My name is Emmanuel, but popularly known as Manny and I am the CEO of Sculptors Event Planners. I have a Diploma in Event Planning from the Institute of Event Planning UK. Sculptors Event Planners and Managers was established in 2006 (while I was still in the University). However, we planned our first event in 2009. It was an end-of-year party for the British Council Abuja. Our first wedding was planned in 2010. Since then we have grown from year to year in experience.

How did you get into event planning? 

I have always had a passion for organizing events. There is this fulfillment I get when I see things going the way they should. It is this passion that drove me into event planning.

What is your favourite part of the wedding day?

My favourite part of a wedding is the entrance of the couple. It is just so much fun to watch especially when the couple know how to express themselves. Take a look at our most popular job:

What is the most awkward moment you’ve experienced while on the job? 

There was this wedding, we had where the couple decided to spend another 2 hours after their church ceremony to take pictures at a different location. We had to find away to engage the already restless guess. You can only imagine the kind of eyes, the guest gave to me and my colleagues on that day. lol

What’s the best thing you ever seen at a wedding?

The best thing I have seen in a wedding was a wedding we supervised the food sharing and were able to coordinate the serving of 800 guests in less than 30 minutes.

What is your favourite venue and why? 

My favourite Venue is Bahamas at Abuja. Its is a beautiful venue located at the pent house of a plaza in Abuja. the hall is this amazing skylight view.


Indoor or Outdoor, why? 

Definitely Indoors: You can not be affected by changes in weather.

What is your dream location to plan a wedding? 


If you could plan any celebrity wedding ( Past, Present or Future) Who would be the lucky couple?

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and would pass along to other new wedding planner just getting started?

You have to have to be selfless in this industry to gain the trust of your clients. Honesty and dedication is also very important.
